This week's camp is one that we will not soon forget! It rained and rained but we made it into liquid sunshine with the all the energy and enthusiasm of the campers and staff!
Here are the week's highlights...
This week was very exciting with our largest group of campers (116) so far this summer. The campers enjoyed swimming in Lake Huron especially towards the end of the week when the weather became more humid and hot.
AC loved their canoe trip on the Black River on Wednesday-Thursday. While on the river the girls spotted a fawn swimming across the river and many turtles along the river bank. Baldy the bald eagle was spotted again this week at Camp Ozanam. He flew directly over Shawnee-Wyandot in the morning. His nest is close by since this is the third time that he has been spotted around camp.
Raptor invented a new trading card game for the boys called “The Ozanam Card Game” (OCG) and all the boys loved it. It is sure to be a hit for the rest of the summer with the boys from the other sessions.
Congratulations to the Cabin of the Week: HURON
Saturday was Vincentian Day when we honor and thank all the wonderful donors and supporters of Camp Ozanam. Many alumni visited around 11:00 am and saw the end of the Farewell Show in St Philips’ Hall. They chatted with campers during lunch and had a cookout after the campers left on the busses. Thanks you all for you continued love and support of camp!
And thank you parents and family for sharing your children with us this week!
